TOKYO -- A mentally unstable man Wednesday stabbed a 68-year-old woman to death and injured five other people on the southern Japanese island of Okinawa, police said. Two young children were among the wounded, according to reports. Police arrested the 25-year-old knife-wielding man after he attacked local residents in a house and on the street in Sajiki, some 16 kilometers (10 miles) east of the island's capital Naha. "We arrested the suspect on suspicion of killing one person and injuring five others," said a spokesman for the Okinawa prefectural police department.
